How are the Lions able to offer a bursary to a graduating high school student?
Answer: Lion bursaries are possible thru the generosity of community individuals who support Lion fund raising activities.
This annual tradition will continue in June as a student will be selected from several nominated by the Bursary Committee of the South Delta Senior Secondary School and chosen by the Executive of the TBB Lions.
The student to whom the bursary is granted must establish that they:
plan on attending a trade, vocational or technology program (not university) within 2 years of graduating
have demonstrated by their academic record to date that they have the ability to succeed in the higher education program that they have chosen
have made significant contributions in their community
provide a 300 - 350 word essay on ”where you want to be in 5 years”
have demonstrated a need for the bursary to assist them in financing their further education.
